- He's often very cheerful, but there's always a feeling of nervousness in it. Talking a little too loud or too soft, shifting on his feet, fidgeting with his hands. He never means anything by it, but it's clear he's a person who's always a little on edge, like a rabbit, or a small bird.
- He can be very goofy and silly, especially when he gets scared or nervous, stammering out that he's "not into that" or how something's "not physically possible", rather than objecting to being creeped on in the first place.
- His dislikes are massive things. If he doesn't like something, he would rather starve or die of thirst than touch it. However, he's incredibly easy to feed as long as nothing touches his hates, and will eat anything else without complaint. The stuff to avoid with him is anything grape-flavored (artificial or not), anything heavily burnt/charcoaled, and anything with a teeth-hurtingly sweet flavor. He really, really likes bitter and sour flavors though, even ones that would make other people sick or gag.
- He's incredibly fascinated by the occult, though he can be startled easily. To most people's surprise, however, he isn't deterred easily. Oh sure, he gets scared, but being scared makes him excited, and he's the type to sing-song in a way that's both happy and terrified as he plays a horror game, so to speak. As his username suggests, he's also got a... thing for them, as well, and being a teenage boy, that can sometimes cause problems. Though the threat of being in real danger tends to choke it pretty well.
- He's a romantic. He tries to bring flowers or little trinkets he knows Ryou likes to make him smile, and does his best to be as sweet as he can. With Bakura, he's still not sure what to do, but he's trying. He is dating them both, so both matter.
- Ren isn't from a wealthy family. He doesn't talk much about his dad, but he and his mom live in a tiny apartment that's barely big enough for the two of them. They love each other a lot, but Ren feels like he's constantly in her way and a burden because of it. It's part of why he moved in with Ryou; he does love Ryou and Bakura plenty, but since Ryou had room, it would give his mom room, too. While his mother was very sad about it at first, worrying she was chasing her beloved child away, Ryou's welcoming of her, too, made her feel much happier. Ren's mother still comes by to drop off home-cooked things or groceries she can afford, and spends some time relaxing there for "family nights" with all three of them, whether it's talking or playing various games (though she isn't much of a horror gamer like her son). Since she knows that Ren loves her and didn't feel forced out, and Ren knows she's never looked on him with anything but fondness, the atmosphere is always very bright. She likes to look at Ryou as her own child, too, though she doesn't try to parent him too much.
